im posting just for the sake of it. im still a bit sick, although on the recovering end now. yey. hmmm.
i hate elections. be it national, local, or even school elections. yeah so maybe the last was just because we got disqualified. but i still hate elections. tons of flyers, propaganda materials given away just to be crumpled or thrown away later on. like how many forests are we using up every election? and even if we do use recycled materials,just imagine how many other resources are wasted. nobody really reads propaganda materials anyway. might as well have given money instead of the prop materials,at least that would be something the voters could use. kidding though. ;) seriously, if people read the prop materials, that would be fine, but the thing is, they hardly do. unless probably they have something for the candidate or whatever. voters information is a must!!! is that so hard to understand??? no matter how many transitions our government undergoes, if people still do not know the reason and rationale of elections, then what is it for??? if someone is elected just because of being a lesser evil, or his/her status, sympathy (vote), who, after elections would disregard his/her constituents then the purpose of elections is defeated! some voters dont even know how malnutrition, mis and overpopulation, illiteracy, and unemployment among others can affect the performance of a country. things that a public official should know and actually do something about. during election time, try asking a voter what the gpoa of her candidate is, most likely he/she wouldnt have anything on her mind except perhaps the usual political crap. but ask him/her rumors about the other candidates, perhaps even about his/her own, for sure you'll have tons of answers. so tell me, are elections even rationale processes? oh yeah maybe. considering how those rumors would greatly affect the performance of the public official.
voter's education
is that too hard to ask??? barangay officials should hold seminars (but who would attend?im pretty sure the marginalized have other crap to prioritize) before elections. ugh. its not even feasible.
forgive my faulty logic, but i guess until someone can prove me otherwise, i just might keep on believing that philippine elections would continue to rival the ringling brothers circus.
